Lisa Leskien Nominated as Cambridge Athlete of the Year

National Team Member Lisa Leskien has been nominated for the Athlete of the Year award at the Cambridge Sports Awards Banquet taking place on November 5th 2009.

Lisa is a two-time member of the Canadian 100km Ultramarathon Team. She got her breakthrough on the international circuit when she competed for Canada at the 100km World Cup in Torhout, Belgium in June 2009.

She followed her top Canadian woman performance at her rookie race by another top performance, finishing 6th at the Commonwealth Championships 100km event in Keswick, UK helping the Canadian team to grab bronze medal at this international arena.

Lisa has raced competively in cross country and track and field in high school for Southwood Secondary and in University for York and the University of Windsor. She runs with the Cambridge Harriers running club.  She is the winner of the Ontario 25k trail series in 2003, and 2005 and the National 12 Hour Champion in 2008.

Lisa lives in Cambridge, Ontario with her husband Greg and 2 year old daughter Ella.
