The ACU maintains and validates all Canadian records set by Canadian ultramarathoners.
Canadian records are maintained in two categories, native and open in line with Athletics Canada Rules and Regulations.
Rule 172 Canadian native records may be claimed by citizens of Canada, irrespective of the country within which the performance was made.
Rule 173 Canadian open records may be claimed by citizens of Canada, irrespective of the country within which the performance was made, or by citizens of other countries competing in Canada.
Any attempt to set a new Canadian Record must be on a certified road course as per the IAAF rules and regulations.
Any event that cannot be measured accurately via the Jones Counter method can not be ceritified.
