Americas Continental 100K Championships 2017

Details
Published: Friday, 10 February 2017 20:41

It is with great excitement and anticipation that I share with you the awarding of the first ever IAU 100K Americas Continental Championships at the Mad City 100K in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. The event will be held at the same time as the USATF National 100K Championships.

http://www.madcity100k.com/home.php.

Please note that there are no travel grants for this event, and only individual competition will occur (i.e. no team competition). Accommodations will be provided for 2 male and 2 female entrants from each of the Americas federations. It is highly likely that this will occur in the form of home stays (accommodations with local runners who will act as hosts for your runners during this time).

To be fair to everyone, we will use the same selection process as the World Championships, The top 2 men and 2 women on the selection list will get free accommodation. As replies comes in, if top name decline the invitation, the second moves up and so on.

The General Info Sheet (GIS) will be sent out shortly by the IAU.

Again I apologize for the short notice but this championship just got finalized recently.

This invitation is time sensitive therefore please reply as soon as possible (no later then Sunday Feb 15th) if you are planning to go.

This is a perfect opportunity for a qualifier for 2018 and also to be part of an historic event as we host the first Americas Championships.

Anyone wishing to participate, please contact us as soon as possible.
